Work with Bitches Get Riches

Work With Us

We’re Jess and Lauren, co-founders and debaucherous proprietresses of Bitches Get Riches. Our mission in life is to help people build stable, happy lives free from the pain and stress of money troubles. As part of that mission, we love connecting directly with audiences who want to learn how to financially protect and empower themselves.

… And that’s all fine and good, but it’s not what makes us special.

What makes us special is that we’re lifelong friends who share the rare and coveted ability to emit Party Vibes™ on command. Nobody brings more powerful, positive community energy to every situation they inhabit. We make meetings between colleagues feel like hangouts between friends. Whatever the topic, our goal is to make our session everybody’s favorite of the day. Stand back and watch as we transform sedate industry conference cocktail hours into legendary dance parties. In our capable hands, people will connect, learn, grow—and swear they had a great time doing it.

Yes—even if you stick us with the 7:30 a.m. time slot! That’s just how good we are.

Speaking engagements, workshops, panels, and more

Making public appearances allows us to connect directly with audiences on the personal finance and adulting topics we care about most. (Plus, it’s fun to watch newbies squirm when they ask, “So I’m really supposed to call you… ‘the Bitches’? To your faces!?”)

The Bitches are fearless, funny, experienced public speakers ready to tackle both in-person and digital engagements. Whether it’s keynote speeches, workshops, live courses, lightning talks, or moderated panel discussions, we strive to be both educational and entertaining at our events. We have ample experience contributing to both online and in-person discussions.

  • Do you have a tough crowd? Point us at them. With our wit and wisdom, we can tenderize the toughest chuck until it resembles the finest filet.
  • Are you grappling with making one topic relevant across a diverse audience? We’re sensitive and inclusive to people of all backgrounds and skill levels. We can make the same session appeal to mid-career professionals and recent grads alike.
  • Do you need a wild card for your panel? Someone to randomly disagree on principle? Or pull a U-turn towards radical labor rights activism and/or scathing criticisms of Robert Kiyosaki? We’re your girls.

Ideas for engaging sessions

Event planners: do you want accolades for booking the standout speakers of the day? We’ll make that easy for you. Our talks are always audience favorites. We work hard to educate AND entertain. Plus, all of our discussions are tailored with your audience in mind. We pride ourselves on making sure that no matter where our listeners are on their financial journey, we’ll make them feel seen and included in our advice. Whether the topic is personal finance, career advancement, or the intersection of social justice and economics, we love to create that electrified feeling that the audience is hanging off every word.

With advance notice, we can accommodate the needs of most organizations. With over two million words written across hundreds of topics, our range of expertise is as broad as it gets! To give you an idea, here are a few of the topics we’ve covered in the past…

The Burnout Workshop

Based on exhaustive research and hundreds of conversations with readers suffering from burnout, our most popular course is full of practical solutions and exercises to stop the burn. First, we educate attendees about the physical and mental processes that drive burnout. Next, they’ll learn the top five personality traits that make people prone to burning out, with actionable ideas to address each one within themselves. They’ll also learn the top five environmental traits that make workplaces more prone to burning us out, so they can contribute to building realistic, compassionate processes for a low-stress team. Everyone leaves with a plan to make positive, sustainable change for the better.

Financial Self-Care

This class is for people who tend to put themselves last: parents, caregivers, teachers, healthcare professionals, and nonprofit workers. We explore the seven dimensions of self-care and reveal why financial self-care is the most difficult of them all. We then go through the specific financial self-care actions we consider to be the most essential, ordered so that people of all ages and incomes feel seen. Attendees get a grounding in the vital importance of self-care, a structured to-do list with a clear roadmap to greater financial stability, and the loving push they need to go out and prioritize it.

Surviving Financial Fuck Ups

This talk is all about our biggest financial mistakes, and—spoiler alert—how we recovered from them. It’s hilarious, self-deprecating, and relatable. We open up about the worst financial mistakes we’ve made, in all their glorious, gory, technicolor detail. Then we explain how we bounced back, and what lessons we took from our own failings. It’s a great way to open audiences up to talking freely and vulnerably about hard subjects.

Financial Security by Age 30

This is our favorite class to teach to high school and college students. We start by telling them we retired at age 35. (With no cushy salaries, no rich parents/spouses, no lucky investments—i.e., no cheating!) This jolts our audiences wide awake, and gets them to lean in and listen closely to our recommendations. From choosing a career to managing debts, we reveal the small, boring steps that eventually made our net worth go brrrrrr! Hard work is glamorized; frugality is glorified. This is an engaging, inspiring wake-up call for young people. We’ve never ended this talk without a long line of students queuing at the microphone to eagerly ask for more.

Do you do personal consultations?

On a very limited basis, yes, we do offer personal consultations. Here’s how they work.

We’ll hop on a video call with you for 60-90 minutes and talk deeply about whatever goals or dilemmas are top of mind for you. We’ll then follow up with a personalized written improvement plan based on the consultation. These reports are personally written and researched by one (or both) of us, and they’re not short. Babe, they’re juicy. To give you an idea of what the experience is like, here are examples of past consultations that later became public case studies.

If we feel your situation merits a public case study on the blog or podcast, we will do so! But it will be thoroughly anonymized unless you request otherwise. Not all consultations become articles; we have to feel your situation is uniquely relatable or interesting to our audience. Don’t feel bad if yours isn’t chosen for broader publication! It just means your situation was unique.

We only accept a few consultation slots per year, so reach out early before they fill up!

We’re happy to talk to our readers about any and all topics related to personal finance or careers. Remember that we aren’t real doctors—we just play them on TV! We give generalist advice only, as we do not have credentials in specialized fields like investing, taxes, legal issues, immigration, and so on. Talk to someone who does before you run out and act on it.
